This story in the Washington Post reports that state air pollution officials are worried that:
the nation's trucking industry is trying to delay an Environmental Protection Agency rule that is supposed to clean up emissions from diesel-fuel engines used in trucks and buses. The EPA put out the final rule in January 2001. It doesn't start going into effect until 2007, but state air guardians are rattled because they say they have seen industry groups seek help before in recent years to weaken environmental regulations.(This is the third entry I've posted this morning, and all three relate to motor vehicles - interesting.)
